This was an ok book by Peter Watts. It had space exploration, first contact, vampires, multiple personality disordered people, people that were more machine than person, etc. I was able to read it, but did not find it as enjoyable as Starfish, which is still my favorite of his novels so far. Though I think this could make an excellent movie in the right hands.
If you look at any of my books you will notice that I plow through anything with the name Haruki Murakami slapped on it. This book is his magnum opus. Many people complain that the first half of this book is not as good as the second half. I don't know about the rest of you, but I never view a book with a first half, second half, two thirds etc. It is a collection of pages that comes to a conclusion at the end, which should tie the whole of the book together. I'm not going to go through a summary of this book because I think my job as a reviewer is to tell you how good this book is. IT IS A GOOD BOOK. Buy it, rent it out at your local library, borrow it from a friend, steal it(just kidding). Just find the time to read it!
