Well, I finished the book. It was a bit like walking in the Sahara...wondering when it will end. Did not enjoy reading about their various neuroses and inner dialogue. I did enjoy the descriptions of the town, cafes, hotels...and especially the house she where she was held captive when forced to marry Belqassim. But reading about the bored rich is boring.
This is a great little book about the history of the area I grew up in!
