OK lor. I liked female lead's fighting spirit and how completely undauntable she was, but I really disliked the male lead. The logic of the Heyer romance novel dictated that he had to be even bossier and more intransigent than the female lead, which meant that he was the worst kind of alpha male. (Dear Heyer: I DO NOT CARE whether your heroes can drive horses or not! Please write more heroes and heroines like the ones in Cotillion. Freddy is so cute. :( ) Also Heyer always has a jump from bantering friendship to luuuurve -- a leap she doesn't describe, though she's quite careful about showing the stages in the bantering friendship -- and I felt it was especially abrupt here. Still, loved Deb. And Arabella Ravenscar (impish younger sister of male lead) deserves a book of her own.
