Never has a book altered my mind as this one did. It is so depressing that I wished suicide on both the man and the boy just so their suffering would end. The book brings out emotions in me that I never had to deal with. I never thought a book this black could have a happy ending - but it does. Sort of - a pseudo happy ending. It took me a week to finish its 241 pages, although most could read it in 5 hours. It exhausted me mentally and after 20 pages or so I had to put it down. But I always came back, and I'm glad I did. I was angry that I was sucked into reading the infamous Cormac, and I almost gave up. But I stuck with it and by page 100 I was hooked.
