Rulfo had basically one novel and one book of short stories published. Both are fantastic and strange, and if you're interested in Faulkner's ties to Latin American writing (or for that matter, if you're curious about Marquez's roots), check out Pedro Paramo. It's haunting and feverish and violent and sad. And good.
