Despite the title, the dilemmas in this book are anything but religious. The narrator, a Pakistani Princeton graduate working an elite NY finance job before and after September 11, finds himself in love with NY but increasingly placeless and ethically unsettled with the system he is thriving in. It's a fast read and gives a critical snapshot of what it is like to be neighbors with the other side of the war on terror. That said, the book doesn't have a point it drives home -- it merely suggests, intrigues, and softens the reader to the possibility of other perspectives. For me, it's a prologue.
