Beautifully written stories of a group of Chinese women who emigrated to this country around the same time and became friends. The stories are told through the eyes of these women when they were younger and the eyes of their American-born daughters. Really moving for the daughter of an Indian dad, though I think people with immigrant mothers would be even more affected. The movie is wonderful as well! This one is a tear jerker.
