** spoiler alert ** About 3/4 of the way through this. I'm a slow reader, but it's going pretty quickly. Mostly I'm reading for sentimental value. My dad was always a huge fan, and a lot of the stories in this book I heard years ago from my dad. I wonder how it was that he knew all these stories right away. My dad doesn't seem like the type to obsess over a celebrity. At any rate, the book is an easy read. The beginning is slow and not particularly well written. Once you get into the "Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll" stories, if you are interested in the stories at all (and I am) the writing isn't so noticeably bad. Perhaps that's because I'm engaged. I wouldn't recommend to anyone unless they're a big fan and deeply curious about the man behind the music. Otherwise, it's probably interchangeable with the autobiography/biography of any other musician coming up from the 60s. "I did a lot of heroin, drank a lot of booze, went to rehab and found God (or Krishna, or Allah, or whatever....)"
