The 4th book that I read in the Harry Hole series..when I figured out that they were perhaps best read in order ( this is the 3rd book in the Hole series, but the first book available in the English translation) However I do think that the later books ( eg The Snowman, The Leopard) are easier to get in to and then once you get to know Harry... all the books become compulsive reading
