This one nicely draws the series to a close, as Laura transitions from lovely young lady to a newly married pioneer wife (my she is young...)and it ends very sweetly and hopefully. I prefer the books when she is younger, but overall I still like it very much. What a life she lead! I think about all the technology and national growth she lived through-- born shortly after the Civil War and lived through both World Wars, with her daughter Rose reporting the Vietnam War from Vietnam. Wow!
Not a bad read at all...the whole book does not quite live up to the promise at the beginning, but the story is fun, compelling, and imaginative. A good weekend read.
