Love has reasons that Reasons can’t understand This is my first novel by Arlene Brathwaite; I was not disappointed in this one and will check out her earlier work. All the character in this book work very well and all had essential part to play in the development of this Novel. They were sneaky, funny and some were trust worthy while other not so. There were no useless characters and they all had background info offered to help understand why they did the things they did. We are introduced to Olivia Martin owner of Butta Cutz men’s Salon. Olivia is the most sought after barber and looking to take her salon to the next level. When she has a chance meeting with Clayton “Saint” Andrews he gives her the means to bring VIP to her shop and plenty of publicity with it. Only it also awakens some past enemies of his. While these two are attracted to one another Saint feels the only way to keep her out of harm way is to distance himself from her. Olivia has other plans while she tries to fight her attraction as well fate just keeps bringing together. Saint has to come clean and let her in on his dangerous past will she stick it out with him? Will his secrets do more harm than good? Will being honest with a woman he is truly in love with bring him a peace of mind? With his enemies hot on his trail is he able to protect himself and keep Olivia out of harm way? While I considered this a romance novel, which I routing for Olivia and Saint to become an official couple, this book had some twist and plots and a street edge to it also.
