I wanted to stop reading this one half way through...but I finished it and I'm glad that I did. A slow, subtle, sad story. For people who like gloomy British fiction.
I didn't feel like I was reading a Youth Fiction novel. It was very well written, thoughtful, and interesting. I felt that it was philosophical without being boring like philosophical writing can be for me sometimes. It made me ask... At what point are we human? At what point does the soul let go of the body in death? Our brains are neurons and matter, but how does the MIND exist? Is the mind the soul?
