Sydney is the alchemist that helped out Rose and Dimitri when they were on the run. She's still in debt to Abe Mazur and in trouble with the Alchemists for helping the Moroi. As a sort of punishment, Sydney has been assigned to Jill. She, Eddie and Adrian will be traveling as Jill's siblings while she enrolls in a school in Palm Springs. Since Jill is the only living relative of Lissa, protecting her is important to the Moroi throne. Moving to Palm Springs with a bunch of Moroi and a damphir isn't Sydney's idea of a good time, but she's determined to get back in the good graces of the Alchemists and protect her younger sister from the alchemist life. After enrolling in school, Sydney realizes there is something weird going in with the tattoos the student body is receiving. They seem to be a lot like the magical tattoos that the alchemists receive and after doing some investigating, she realizes that an alchemist is supplying the local tattoo parlor with vampire blood and saliva to give the wearers a temporary high. Enlisting the help of Adrian, Sydney discovers the alchemist involved but the deceit doesn't stop there. She and Adrian also realize a murderer is killing to try to become Strigoi. After uncovering both plots, Sydney is given the chance to go back to her life, but she decides to stay on with Jill's protective detail. Who knows what other mysteries she's going to uncover? Guess I have to read the next book to find out.
Why don't more awesome writers write short stories?
Once again Janet Evanovich has captured the desire for the Stephanie Plum life. Really - what women wouldn't want to have the exciting life of a bounty hunter with men like Morelli & Ranger in her life. And who could forget about Lula ~ what a trip to have as a sidekick !! Another good read.
Interesting. Outlines the 11 types of Yankee fans, explains why their fan base seems to grow everyday, what makes Steinbrenner so damn evil and much more.
