Primarily, Bryson got me super obsessed with supervalcanoes, and I'm almost infatuated despite the fact that...well, that yellowstone could destroy our world at any moment. In fact, that is WHY I'm so fascinated. That said, I'm certainly due for another perusal of this book--a deeper investigation. It was stimulating and opened my mind to science. And I'm sure a second read, now a few years later, will open up my mind even more. Bryson describes it all in a way that even the reader who is avidly resistant to science will be intrigued and actually want to keep reading. And to read again.
