Bu serinin 2. kitabından keyif aldım, ancak neredeyse 1. kitaptan zevk aldığım kadar değil.
At first blush, this book is not from a genre I would EVER choose. War stories would be among the books I'd generously leave on the shelf for those more inclined toward guns, death and horrific scenes. But book group chose this and I'm glad I left my comfort zone. This book is as much about relationships as it is about war. While the author says the book is not autobiographical,it's written from the perspective of a soldier with the author's name. And, mid-book, the author seems to re-tract the denial...or did I take him too literally? That aspect was distracting, but overall, I'm glad I read it. Third book in our year of MN Authors! Jim O'Brien grew up in Worthington.
(Think there was a road trip...it's been awhile.)
Very good book. Incredibly well written, but also incredibly depressing. A must read for the post-9/11 generation.
Shmuley Boteach -- is a wonderful author and for me laid it all out for me in regards to my son and the important things I as a parent needed to be mindful of. Great read.
