Maybe I should create a special scifi category for this book. I'm sure Orson Scott Card would be offended to be lumped in with the fantasy. At least, if the introduction is to be believed. Honestly, this book might have gotten a better review if I hadn't read the intro first (but that is the point of an intro, after all). Ender's Game was an fairly quick, enjoyable read, but not, I think, as original as Orson Scott Card would have had me believe.
Karen White is one of my favorite authors and she does not disappoint with her latest novel. The characters are interesting and her signature descriptive writing style continues to be beautiful. The story flows well with the alternating points of view and between the past/present. This story is very difficult to put down and leaves readers anxiously waiting for her next release. This book makes an excellent beach read! Love the cover and how enjoyable her novels are.
