Didn't like the writing style. Liked the movie better.

This... was such a rollercoaster ride.. from HELL. I really honestly didn't think there could be THAT many twists and turns in one book... without losing the plot completely.. but Jennifer McMahon has definely proven me wrong! So, first off, the synopsis of the book does not do the story justice AT ALL. It sort of makes it seem that you'll be hearing about a cute little delusional girl and her fantasies about fairies and whatnot, NOT TRUE. This book is very dark and disturbing, but written wonderfully. The author didn't make it too gory or disgusting or anything like that, she told the story how it was meant to be told. I usually don't get scared too easily when it comes to books, but this one definetly had me creeped out. I liked that the author definetly didn't overdo it. Sometimes, I've found, the author will make a fiction story a little TOO dark and disturbing, and leaves me feeling like "did the story really need to go in that direction?" but I didn't feel that way at all, while the plot was starting to unfold. And on that note, the plot doesn't start to unfold until maybe part 5 which is page 407. The story is told in 6 parts, by the way. So, this story has you guessing the ENTIRE 3/4's of the book. And just when you feel like the story is going to stop with the twists & turns, it abruptly pulls you in another direction! I definety enjoyed that aspect of it, because I hate stories where you figure out the plot even halfway through. It feels like such a let down, but this one kept me on my toes. Overall, I highly highly recommend this book, but it's definetly for ages 18 and up.

Ho hum story of our Ambassador and the mediocre state dept. This is not a story of any great hero's or heroine's, but a story of mundane happenings and gossip.
