This was one of the most encouraging books that I have read in a very long time. It's the true story of a woman who suffered horrible child abuse, survived life in London, England during the WW2 bombings and whose face was severely injured by one of those bombs. It tells of her struggles as she fought depression and the ability to regain her self-respect while facing the world with a badly scarred face. Even though she discovers a product that restores her appearance and then markets it to help others, she faces unbelievable obstacles and yet she never gives up. I was impressed with her attitude and how her inner values kept her going to become a loving mother and a successful businesswoman. Some of the instances were heart wrenching and yet she maintains to this day she is successful because she learned to forgive and move on. I recommend this book to everyone who wants encouragement in their life, who wants to know how to laugh in times of adversity and who wants to learn how to succeed professionally when it appears as if all the odds are against them.
