I wanted to read this book because I knew that there was the movie coming out! I loved the idea of a modern 'Beauty and the Beast' story, as I really loved the Disney story when I was a kid. This book is well written. It is meant for teenagers, and even though I am about 10 years out of highschool, I still could relate to what they were going through. The story was very sweet, and it was a cute love story. I can see how it would make a great movie! I look forward to seeing it!
A collection of short stories that are, you guessed it, written in Scottish, are hilarious, and brutal. There it is. But entertaining. Also adapted into quite a great film.
I'm definitely a fan of Conroy's and couldn't put this book down. It was a bit annoying at times with the overdone witty banter and the racial ribbing but still a good read.
Ughh ! why are the covers so ugly? Well you know what they say .. "Never judge a book by its cover" I'm glad i didn't because it is a good read !
This novel is written in a clear, poetic voice. If you enjoy the People's History or other non-fiction history, try this one.

I don't think there is a better book out there to date. This is an absolute favorite of mine. It is written with such a poetic hand, I found myself caressing the book as I read. I love DEATH being the narrator, so original. It was also wonderful to hear an account of Nazi Germany that was about the regular citizens, those trapped in the middle of all the horror, who had to go on living life. If you can handle death, you can handle this book. I have read it 3 times in under a year. I love it.
