This book did the other "finally" thing that I was waiting for. Although I am not a big fan of Richard, she definitely made him more understandable in this book. It ended back in the place where we began, before all the big happenings, so I really want to start the next book (and not just because someone told me it involves Edward... although that is part of it...). I'm gunna take a break, though, and read the new Cassie book that just came out :-)

A really good book looking at both the biblical and historical view of the Scriptures. He section on "Solo Scriptura," that is the view that each individual Christian can interpret the Bible however he pleases, is great tonic for much of what ails Protestant hermeneutics.

This is another text where I was only assigned to read parts of it. My teacher, Mrs. Burnes, broke the book into segments and had the students report out on the parts they read, so we all got the experience of the book without reading all of it. I remember enjoying the messages of the text at the time, though I don't recall them much now. My teacher also had us go to a place in nature and reflect there once a week for several weeks. That assignment meant a lot to me as well. Then, visiting the actual Walden Pond many times also made an impact on me and how I feel about nature. So, even though I don't remember much ten years later, I do know this book impacted me.
