I used this guide book on my second adventure to Maui and it is a worthy one, going above and beyond the usual 'best hotel', best restaurant lists. So not your typical guide. This book is more for those who go out and find activities rather than if you're going to lay on the beach outside your hotel. Great directions to find various out of the way items, such as beaches. We visited a red sand beach near Hana, a fantastic spot, probably never would have known of its existence. Word is the locals hate this book, it gives away their secrets.
Austen is not quite as titilating--or infomative--as a geometry textbook.
