I was as pleased with this as one can be with books read for class and research. Appreciated the brevity with which Hill outlines the important stages and persons of the Enlightenment, and I even laughed a few times at his way of revealing some details with playful irony. At just under 200 pages with pictures, paintings and marginal quotes to supplement the text, this a great springboard source for any study of the Enlightenment period.
