The first half is a fascinating look into the brain through a lens of survival in the wilderness. Who survives and why? I think it kind of tinkers out after the first half, but overall I really enjoyed it and most of the information doesn't only apply to surviving in the wilderness. I do however wish that people who engage in wilderness activities and write about them would acknowledge their extreme privilege. I never see anyone acknowledge that their 'lessons' about life (that they derive from paying an oftentimes extraordinary amount of money and resources) do not apply to everyone. Might be a simple point, but I think the following discussion would be a worthwhile one.
