This book has the most precise, luxurious, exacting use of language I have ever encountered; the analogies and similes cause you to be right there with the protagonist, a "coolhunter" who gets caught up in a mysterious internet video that takes her to London, Japan, and other far reaches of the mind. Fascinating and staggering in complexity!
This book was a little macho for me at first, dealing with the military and Secret Ops, and Secret Service details, but there were some fine human elements to the story as well about an about-to-be-unleashed zombie plague on the US. There were enough surprising twists and turns that kept this book from becoming yet another garden variety zombie novel. I will definitely read Maberry's other books as so many here swear by his writing.
