This is a great book. It was enhanced by Riordan's way of telling the story in segments, usually two chapers long, focusing on different characters.

This is a very easy to read and fun book about how the author learns all about wine. There isn't a boring page in it. She has a very sharp sense of humor that I enjoyed. I learned quite a few things, in particular, about decanting wine. This has helped me in my own "wine journey". She gives some tips about purchasing wine, ordering wine in a restaurant and other things that a newbie really needs to know. I highly recommend this book!

Loved this book! For the learning experience that I got and for the amazing, amazing way Sarah Dessen writes. This Lullaby is a story about Remy Starr, very organised and clear about her life. Or so she thinks. She follows her own set of rules for doing everything. She hates musicians 'cause her father was one. The same father who cared enough to write a song for her, a song which became a super hit, but not enough to abandon her. She never saw her father, but knows the lyrics of that song by heart. And hates it. “This Lullaby is only a few words, a simple run of chords, quiet here in this spare room, but you can hear it, hear it, wherever you may go, I will let you down, this lullaby plays on...” Who promises a loved one that he'll let them down anyway? She's cynical about love and her mother's five marriages do nothing to help. But then comes Dexter, her complete opposite. He's a musician. He somehow always manages to get grease on his clothes or on himself. And he's very, very sure that he and Remy are meant to be together. And the funny part, they somehow click. Having a clear cut way about relationships too, Remy always stays in control; the first six smooth months are enjoyed and just when it starts to get emotional, the string is stretched, tied up and done away with. No loose ends. But Dexter's different, right? He's one loose string she's not able to completely stretch and do away with. So is she falling in love? But love hurts, it makes you weak. And she knows better than to give away her heart. She should keep control for "the fate of your heart is your choice and no one else gets a vote." And then the cold hard Remy turns to seek advice, from none other than her mother. And this is the part I loved the most! But you got to read the book to enjoy what you're sure to learn from this book. A few favorite quotes: "you can never go from going out to being friends, just like that. It's a lie. It's just something that people say they'll do to take the permanence out of a breakup. And someone always takes it to mean more than it does, and then is hurt even more when, inevitably, said ‘friendly' relationship is still a major step down from the previous relationship, and it's like breaking up all over again. But messier." "It's true that I have been hurt in my life. Quite a bit. But it's also true that I have loved, and been loved. And that carries a weight of it's own. A greater weight, in my opinion. In the end, I'll look back on my life and see that the greatest piece of it was love. The problems, the sadness... those will be there too, but just smaller slivers, tiny pieces." "What did it feel like, I wondered, to love someone that much? So much that you couldn't even control yourself when they came close, as if you might just break free of whatever was holding you and throw yourself at them with enough force to easily overwhelm you both." "When it works, love is pretty amazing. It's not overrated. There's a reason for all those songs." Happy Reading! :)
