The book is written as a series of journal entries written in the middle ages by a fourteen year old girl named catherine whose father is determined to marry her off to any rich nobleman he can find. This is a very comical book full of wit and trickery. All in all I found this book to be highly entertaining.
when i was 16 i went through a phase where all i read was kurt vonnegut. i tried to pick up breakfast of champions at the age of 23 and found it exhausting and absurd. then i decided to give my favorite vonnegut book another shot recently, and easily made my way through sirens of titan. this is a really good, creative, bizarre story. vonnegut has a complex, involved way of getting across is most basic philosophical views. i have to say, i even enjoyed this the second time around.
Listened to on audio and din't love it.
This is a subtle book. All of the flawed characters (just about everyone in the book) are well-drawn. This book won't take long to read.
