In my top 5 books of poetry, no question. Larry Levis is a brilliant poet and I am grateful for this book. Read it. He makes the long poem seem short, and for that alone his is a poetic genius... to me, anyway.
I didn't realize that comedy developed; I thought people were just born funny. It was interesting to see Steve Martin's process in developing and learning about humor.
Extraordinarily sweet book . . . look forward to reading it at some point. More serious stuff's calling me now.
