It's hard to look my bunny in the eye after rereading this, but my little pile of flopped-out geniality bears no resemblance to the rabbits of Watership Down. Even years after I first read it, Watership Down is still one of the best modern epics around. That it's acessable (if terrifying) to children only makes it better.
This was a good story, and I really liked the characters, especially Jana. I did wish that Lisa and Nicolas would have been a little more upfront with Jana about what they wanted from her. It would have lead to a lot less feelings of guilt on Jana's part for thinking she was lusting after Lisa's "man". There was quite the tearjerker at the end, which was unexpected. Definitely a HOT book!
