I read this book my first month in New York and it scared the hell out of me. I almost packed up and moved home.
Between Shake Hands with the Devil (military history), Sunday by the Pool in Kigali (fictional account of what it might have been like to be a foriegner stuck in Kigali during the genocide) and this (a personal account from a survivor who survived by spending months locked in a bathroom with many others) I think I have had my fill for a while....it's worth knowing about for sure. If you can stomach it you should.
