I actually had high hopes for this book, but it turned out to be a let-down. It is a great story and I can see how it had potential. Unfortunately, I was turned off by the writing style and I felt like there were gaps, short-cuts, in the story. I'm typically not one to put down a book without finishing it, but I have to admit that the last 50 pages were a struggle. The book just didn't do justice to the story itself.
