This is the second book in a series about two former Secret Service agents (Sean King and Michelle Maxwell) who team up to form an investigative business. I read this book after I had read book 4 and 3 and 1 (in that order)- and I enjoyed them all - each story stands on its own, so it isn't critical that you read them in sequence. For those that enjoy the suspense genre this series is terrific. Baldacci captures your attention quickly and doesn't let go. This one was pretty scary for me actually - since I thought about the story late at night after I'd finished it.
"Hell is other people!" Oh, what a line to read as a teen, because you believe it. Sarte might not be subtle, but that's okay.
My grown children will identify with Leroy and Aimee for there was nothing they enjoyed more when the long Mozambican dry season ended than to play in the rain. But in this story the rain doesn't stop and the children must be rescued by helicopter. Delightful pastel illustrations with expressive faces. Based on actual events, this could be frightening or confusing to small children. I wish the author had chosen more Mozambican sounding names.
An amazing idea set in a dystopian future. A teenage love story with the involvement of the government. that can never end well. What teenager likes being told what to do let alone who to like:) I am eagerly waiting to see how it all turns out. Truly our government today is starting to feel a little like they know what is best for all and so they will be in charge of all the choices. An insight into the not so far future no?
