I loved the writing. "Absoloodle." I didn't think I'd enjoy the book as much as I did, knowing as little as I did (and still do) about boxing and South Africa during Hitler's reign. Even the boxing parts were fascinating. I was overall delighted with Peekay's character and his experiences. My biggest complaint was about the pinched ending. Did Courtenay get tired of writing it or something? I know there's a sequel out there, but come on, that felt awfully forced.
