How is it even possible to design something 'not tied to the present moment'? >> Isn't the aim of 'atemporality' itself tied to the present moment? -Pattern Recog = Film, advertising. Zero History = fashion 121 - 'jeans and a white shirt' Contrast Milgrim and Hollis' descriptions of Mere 123 - pretty sentence 125 - Theory seems legit. But is Milgrim paranoid? WHY would he be bugged? What value does it have? Who? 148 - AMAZING way of showing she teared up! Not about her EYES about how it changes her PERSPECTIVE. Love it. -Milgrim's Tea - dramatic irony?? He oversteeps white tea and it tastes metallic. Of course he wouldn't know how to brew it. (I would never write that! I would always want it to be good. Too idealistic!) -HOW is a mystery about a pair of jeans compelling?? Gabriel Hounds Meredith's account - fairytale structure, benevolent wraith, heard her SINGING p219-229 Cayce! Amazing! Didn't see it coming at all. Rocked my world. Is Cayce's husband parkaboy? Is Gibson good at romance? I can't tell. It's subtle, good. But do I buy it? There IS something magnetic about Hollis/Garreth, Milgrim/Fiona but is there something missing? Is it just that I don't know what they look like? Is it okay that Hollis lost MOST of her agency in the end to Garreth's plan? Also it was anticlimactic. It was teased and teased as Ocean's Eleven clever but there weren't any super-twists after Cayce. Heidi is the stuff of legend. To the point where she overshadows Hollis. Fucking GLEAMING dialogue, ugh. (296) ENDING ORDER FLOW. How didn't I see it?? Bigend knows the future. 17 minutes. And Bigend is great. The Klein Blue, the full english. If Hollis and Cayce both work for him, does that make him the sort of protagonist of the series? But the whole climax is about CHOMBO, Gracie, Order flow. Not Hounds. Why hounds? Atemporal? Immune to order flow? Gibson has this way with CONCEPTS. Characters speak about them and they become real. Order Flow v ^ Atemporality
