This was an awesome chick flick book about a group of women who have nothing in common except knitting. Each woman has her own story and each is shared throughout the book.
I am in the middle of this book and am learning very much about the elder Bush family. Mrs. Bush is a witty person who adores and idolizes her husband Poppy. I am sure the rest of the book will be in good taste. She certainly has a sense of humor.
There are parts of this book that I really liked (the arc of it, the weaving of the different stories for instance), but then there were times when it just seemed to drag. I couldn't place my finger on exactly what it was that irked me, but then it struck me. I wanted there to be more urgency and that didn't appear until much later. Hard to get started, easy to finish and the slowest parts (for me to read) were the 1978 parts. I just didn't care.
I loved this book. The voices in the book were rich and colorful. I enjoyed the book from cover to cover.
