*UPDATE--April 24, 2011* The movie was wonderful. Producers did a very good job with casting. I fell in love with Rosie all over again! ------- I don't really think the film can capture a few things from this book the way I've portrayed them in my imagination. I'm curious to see the movie, but I'm also afraid I'll be deeply disappointed. (Update: I take back these comments gladly, I am NOT disappointed. What's great, is that there is still intrique and surprise awaiting the 'reader-after-seeing-the-movie'.) I think I'll keep my own story of the elephant to myself, easier to tell my nieces, nephews and students! I envisioned a lot of HBO's "Carnivale" in this book--transportation would be one of the biggest differences. There were a few things I could have done without, but those things helped with the author's story-telling. Ultimately, I loved the book!

I have to say this was one of her better ones. I really enjoyed the plot in this one and honestly, I didn't know 'who dun it' until the end. Which was nice. :)
