It was a pretty good series. Not my favorite, not as well-written as some, but a "good read" none the less. Confusing in some places, because of the wording. He puts things like, "Dodge jumped out of the Cat's way as... Bibwit ran to the Pool of Tears." (Not a direct quote.)He does this multiple times to make it more dramatic, but it gets old after the sixth or seventh time. Interesting twist on "Alice in Wonderland" though; interesting enough to keep me reading.
An A&E channel favorite series, Nero Wolfe, was based on these novels. I must say, the series does the books justice in this case. I loved the extra details the book includes. The TV episode was very true to the book.
Yes, Kamili, I too will forever associate this book with you and Paris. In fact the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this book is the moment we decided that we were not going to read the book or write the paper. We were on a train to the South of France and the air smelled like lavender. Maybe it was something about France, but I have never been so calm about turning in a paper a week late since.
