The Dark Glamour is a sequel to 666 Park Avenue. In the first book, Jane is swept of her feet by a rich, handsome stranger that she immediately falls in love with. She moves with him to New York and becomes part of the Doran clan. Jane's future mother-in-law, Lynne, is a bit pushy and wants things done her own way but Jane puts up with it because she thinks it all part of the wedding stress. One other thing, Jane is a witch, something she just found out before she moved to New York. It was something that her grandmother kept hidden. She didn't know it though until her Grandma passed away. Then she learned that her grandma had a protection spell around her so that other witches could not find her. Shortly before the wedding, Jane learns that Lynne is also a witch, and not just any type of witch, she is a truly evil one. On the day of her wedding, Jane learns just how evil she is and disappears shortly after the ceremony. This book picks up a few weeks after the first book ends. Rather than leaving the country, Jane decides to hide in NY. While in hiding, she learns about something that she believes if she can find it will make Lynne leave her alone. With the help of some friends, she uses a spell that will completely change her identity for 28 days. Now disguised as Ella, she has a fling with another handsome stranger, inflitrates the Doran mansion in search of something that will help her in her search, and jets off to London. At the end of the book you learn that everything is not as it appears to be and the stage is set for the next installment of the series. This book was not as good as the first but it was still very entertaining. Jane is still struggling with her powers and feels guilty for what she has put some of her friends through. She wants to prtoect them which leads to some mistakes on her part because she doesn't know who she can trust. I did like the end of the book and some of the twists that I was not expecting. I knew that Lynne was evil and obsessed with her family, I did not expect the reason why. I also liked the additional bit of history between Jane's family and the Dorans. I don't know how many books are going to part of this series but it seems like this one was more to set-up the next book as it was a little slow in spots.
