i utterly loved and detested this book - but it's certainly worth a read if you're interested in homosexual love in the 19the century...but ALSO because it offers some wonderful monologues on the nature of life, existentialism, the sheer brutality of existence even...i get lost in these meandering paragraphs, and that's why i love this book. it has no point, and it has a million points
The character development was wonderful. Also the description made the hardships very realistic. Perfect for a younger person
