Ok, I didn't actually finish it. But it was fascinating.

This book, wow, this book is so amazing I don't even know where to begin. I knew I would love this book because it's a romance where the hero was abused as a child. Books like that always really move me. But I had no idea the emotional depths I would find in this book. It is not your traditional, cliched abuse story. This may be the first time I have ever read a book where the abuser isn't portrayed as a heartless monster, but rather a very complex character that has suffered pain, caused pain, and changed and grown. It's an extremely interesting perspective on this situation and I found it very, very, very moving. I also didn't expect how much I would like and easily identify with the characters. Lizzy is a nurse, a natural care-taker that actually enjoys helping others. I saw so much of myself in her, I actually began to feel her emotions. And Sean is everything I want a hero to be--gorgeous, loving, and broken. This book moved me to tears in places, in a good way. It felt so real to me that it even convinced me to call both of my parents just to say hello. But it's still a sweet, happily-ever-after type romance. It also has sibling interaction, which makes this story even better. I only wish that I could read The O'Banyon Brothers books 2 and 3. I want to read Mac and Billy's stories too!!! Someone please tell me she's going to write those some day. In any case, JR Ward's (the author's other pen name) books just moved up to the top of my to read list. I highly recommend this book to all of my friends.
