This was something I'd never have picked up myself. My friend's fiance is a Palahniuk fan and in an effort of getting to know to one another he suggested it and I said I'd check it out. I wasn't crazy about this one. It's not terrible but it wasn't great, and his writing just isn't my style. It's a pretty short book and the print is pretty large, seems more like a novella. There are four different narrators but the voice is really about the same, just a token phrase here and there to differentiate. Most of the time the author seems to use the book as a dumping ground for made-up porn movie titles, extreme grooming methods, and various porn and Hollywood trivia. The plot twisting toward the end was pretty good though (although a couple of times I had a hard time following where was who and what was going on). I should've seen the big reveal coming but I didn't. The characters were pitiable but thin otherwise. If I were handing out awards for the most patently ridiculous final scene though, this one would probably win.
