I can understand and appreciate the experimentation with the form. I can appreciate it as a stream of consciousness text that juggles fifteen different perspectives, but I hate this book. Everything in it, from the form, to the diction, to the story itself is ugly and after I finished it, I felt like I needed to shower to get rid of all that disgusting dirt.
This collection of three stories, details the beginnings of one of the great space opera comics. It clearly influenced a lot of people (the collection includes a comparison to the first Star Wars movies, for instance). It's clear, however, that the series is only finding it's legs. Of the three stories, the third is the one where the series seems to be finding its legs. All in all, this is a collection I'd recommend, (of course, you'd have to be able to read danish, or hunt down the french version), but the real gold, in my opinion, will be the latter colletions.
