I loved this book when I was younger and I have just discovered it again!! I am so excited to re-read it! Whoo Whoo!! :>
I truly adore Peters' books. She has a distinctive young adult voice and attacks interesting, controversial and informative topics. Antonia is involved in a peer counseling program, where she encounters the most "deviant" girl in the high school, Jasmine " aka Jazz. She thinks she cannot tolerate trying to counsel this black-wearing, pierced, gang hanger punk. After all, she is the good girl. What could she possibly contribute or work with through counseling. But then again, how do you define what is normal? I truly enjoyed this book. Watching the two characters come together, understanding how they could and would connect was truly engaging.
