One of my favorite books, all time, ever. I think also a good read for those who are not of the Christian faith. Basically, he goes through and does a chapter each on writers who influenced his faith in some way, Christian or not. People like Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr, Annie Dillard, and Tolstoy. He tells a little about their life and writing, and then recommends books and essays of theirs for further reading.
we're reading it as a book study here. C, H and I. I think the book affirms us and challenges us and poses us with some serious questions about how we pursue community and the structures we've created that we call community.
