This book was amazing. I found that toward the end it was making me slightly antisocial and slightly paranoid, but I guess the sign of a good book is its ability to get into your head. I was really impressed with Ellis's ability to convey the numbness and boredom that Bateman clearly felt with everything. For instance, the horrific murder scenes were truly shocking at first, but by the end of the book, they were commonplace - just the same as reading about yet another expensive restaurant they were in. Clearly this was the point, but it was executed perfectly.
for work, of course.
