A fun summer read. A lot of it was very improbable -- such as the deputy investigating a crime taking a liking to Goldy right away. But if you're willing to suspend reality it's a good, light read. I found it hard to put down.
This was a nice read for St. Paddy's day: a travel writer whose only rule is to never pass up a bar with his name on it. As an added bonus for me, his journey basically re-traces the Harnett-Mashek trek of '06 from Cork to Donegal (including such gems as Cong and Dingle, and such monstrosities as Knock and Bunratty Castle).
