I learned not to mess with the Punks down on South Street.
This probably my favorite book. The first Faulkner I ever read, it blew me away. The story is tragic and yet, I laugh out loud many times as I read. Maybe from the discomfort of watching these people trip through their lives. Have reread many times.
The book reminds me how different a child’s perspective is from adults. You can see how the author's view changes as she grows up, it was very well written and the humor is beautifully subtle.
