Fucked up, but completely true.
It took me a bit to get into this book, as the narrative voice takes a while to adjust to. But once I did, I was enthralled. Tudor history is a bit vague to me, and yes, everyone seems to be named Anne or Thomas (which the book mentions more than once). But it's a fascinating look into power, influence, political motivations and machinations, religion and conscience, and an incredibly sympathetic portrait of Thomas Cromwell.
