I too read this book in middle school, and I still think it's one of the best books I've ever read. I blame Stephen King for my fear of spiders, but the clowns never bothered me. I just loved the idea that the biggest evil was only what was in our heads -- if we imagined nothing, perhaps there would be no evil in the world. Yeah, I'm an idealist.

A fun/neat excerpt from the book that I enjoyed on the introvert's communication style, who tend to: 1. Keep energy, enthusiasm, and excitement to themselves and share only with those they know very well. Hesitate before sharing personal information with others. 2. Need time to think before responding. Need time to reflect before reacting to outside events. 3. Prefer communicating one-to-one. 4. Need to be drawn out or invited to speak, and may prefer written to verbal communication. 5. May occasionally think they told you something they didn't (they're always going over things in their head). --pg.122 How to talk to your extroverted partner: 1. Practice short, clear sentences. That will make it easier for your extrovert partner to listen to you. 2. Don't worry if you get overstimulated during or after a disagreement. It's not a bad thing to have feelings. In any case, they will pass. 3. Tell your partner how you feel about him or her. It's easy to forget this. Your partner wants to hear he or she is cared about. So leave notes and emails, and don't forget to give compliments.
