This is a great book, my first of Dickens! You don't just read a nice story here, you enter a rich and, oftentimes, brutal world with unique characters only Dickens could have created from all different social classes. As much as it describes the worst of humanity, it also describes the very best with its kind-hearted, orphan heroine Esther Summerson. I highly recommend it!
