I reread this as a beach read. The movie is crap compared to the book. In fact the main conflict of the movie, although a somewhat major conflict in the book is actually a teeeeeny tiiiiny portion of it. There's so much else, so many other characters that don't even get a bit of input, there were bits that the screenwriters just made up, etc etc. There's something really beautiful about it that I love to taste every once in a while. There's a definite fondness and affection for the various characters, and a real look at what makes these women beautiful and why their flaws are part of their beauty. Something about it makes me happy in that heart-clenching sad but happy way every time I read it.
This book was exciting to read and defintely was a page turner.
